When Are Hot Tubs The Cheapest?

When Are Hot Tubs The Cheapest?

The demand for hot tubs is constantly rising and they're becoming more popular than ever. In 2025, we're seeing some of the highest demand for a spa in the 10+ years we've been in business.

So when's the best time to actually buy one? When are they at their cheapest?

We explore more in this article...

Picture this. You've just got home after one of those days. You're tired, maybe a bit achy, and all you want is to relax. Then you see it waiting for you, gently bubbling away in your garden. Your hot tub. It's more than just a tub, really. It's your own personal escape, a spot to unwind, catch up with friends or simply recharge after a tough day.

Sure, a hot tub feels luxurious, but it's actually about more than luxury. It's about feeling better, enjoying your downtime, and maybe even boosting your home's value.

Because you won't just love your hot tub for a few months. You'll love it for years.

Hot tubs don't just feel amazing, they deliver genuine mental and physical health benefits you'll notice right away. But let's be real, we know price matters too. You're probably wondering how much hot tubs cost and when exactly hot tubs are the cheapest. In the UK, everyone tends to rush out and buy hot tubs when the weather warms up, and that peak summer demand can mean limited stock and longer wait times.

So, the smartest move is to plan ahead and find out the cheapest time to buy a hot tub - before everyone else does.

When Is The Best Time to Buy a Hot Tub?

If you're after a fantastic deal on a hot tub, summer actually isn't always your best bet. Think winter or early spring instead. Why? Because once temperatures drop, many retailers lower their prices to attract buyers who might be put off by the colder weather.

That’s when you'll spot tempting discounts and offers popping up almost everywhere. But be careful - sometimes those enticing winter deals are from retailers struggling to shift lower-quality spas. The best, most reputable hot tub companies stay busy year-round and rarely slash prices significantly.

It's worth mentioning though, that for most trustworthy retailers, there are fantastic deals available at various points throughout the year. So, while July and August might not be ideal (stock tends to be low and deliveries slow), planning your purchase ahead of peak summer can help you secure both a great hot tub and a brilliant price.

If you're looking at any of our swim spas for sale, you'll find that the price and availability doesn't really change throughout the year.

If the hot tub you want is in stock at our H2O warehouse, we can normally get it to you anywhere in the UK within about 2 weeks. If it's not currently in stock but already in production, delivery usually takes around 6 to 12 weeks.

It's worth remembering that during the summer months demand is highest, which means available stock can be extremely limited or even completely sold out. Most high-quality retailers have no trouble selling out in summer, so anyone with lots of leftover tubs might not have the best products around.

With that in mind, your best bet is to buy around March or April. At this time of year, temperatures start climbing, and you'll usually find better availability. Even if your chosen hot tub isn't immediately available (at H2O, our tubs often sell out around April and become build-to-order), it'll still arrive comfortably in time for June or July, ready for those sunny days.

Think about when you'd ideally like to be soaking in your new hot tub, and then work backwards to plan when to order.

Taking Advantage of Black Friday

A lot of hot tub retailers tend to have deals around Black Friday. This is a huge sale day for stores, and it can help them rocket their profits too. Sometimes sites such as Amazon host flash deals, but you will need to be quick if you want to take advantage of this. If you want to make sure that you are getting the best deal overall, then it may be wise for you to go right to the supplier.

When you do, they will often offer you an installation service, and you may even find that you can take advantage of their servicing packages as well. Online, you may be limited more to inflatable tubs, which can be great fun but generally don’t last very long.

Remember though that Black Friday is a huge shopping day in the UK, so even then you’re not guaranteed to find the product you want if stock runs low. Remember, many hot tub retailers often promote HUGE discounts on their websites, some for more than £1000 off at a time.

Everybody who's sensible knows that these discounts are false and are misleading to customers. Just because you see a great deal, don't be foolish... do your research, speak to other companies and assess your situation before parting with your cash.

The Other Alternative

Another alternative for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Black Friday would be to shop with a smaller company. Big brands tend to have big discounts at certain points of the year. These are usually based around the winter months, which is obviously not too convenient if you want to make the most out of the sun. Big providers also tend to advertise summer discounts, but in reality, they aren’t much cheaper than the standard price that you’d be paying in winter.

If you want to avoid all of this stress, then a smaller company can provide you with a warranty, a personalised shopping experience and a 5-star service all year round. They can also provide you with affordable prices due to the way that their sales system works.
