Nova is slightly larger at around 13ft long and offers a more powerful swim system as standard. It's better suited to regular swimmers who want a stronger counter-current while still keeping the overall footprint relatively compact.
Athena measures around 16ft long, giving you more room to swim and relax. It's a good middle-ground option for buyers who want a noticeably larger swim area without moving up to our biggest model.
Vesta is the largest in the range at around 19ft long. It offers the most space for swimming, relaxing and family use, making it ideal for larger gardens and households that want their swim spa to double as a substantial social and hydrotherapy space.
How much does a swim spa cost in the UK?
Swim spa prices vary with size, swimming system, pump output, seating, controls, insulation and whether the design is single-zone or dual-zone.
Small pools and swim spas typically cost around £12,000-£15,000 depending on quality, and large swim spas will usually be in excess of £20,000.
The spa itself may not be the whole project cost.
Depending on your garden and access, you may also need to budget for base preparation, electrical work, lifting or crane access, landscaping or decking, and an optional heat pump.

How much does a swim spa cost to run?
There is no universal monthly running cost for a swim spa.
Energy use depends on the spa's size and water volume, your chosen temperature, outdoor temperature, how often you use it, how long the cover stays off, filtration and circulation, insulation, and whether a heat pump is fitted.

Swim Spa vs Hot Tub: Which Is Right for You?
A hot tub is mainly designed for seated hydrotherapy, relaxation and social time. A swim spa adds a longer water area with a counter-current for swimming, training and aqua fitness.
That extra capability needs more space, stronger groundwork and often more substantial electrical preparation. If relaxation is your main priority, a hot tub may make more sense. If you want swimming plus recovery, choose a swim spa.
And if you want genuinely separate swimming and hot-tub experiences, the dual-zone Vesta gives you both in one unit.
Single-Zone vs Dual-Zone Swim Spas
A single-zone swim spa uses one shared body of water, so swimming and hydrotherapy happen at the same overall temperature.
A dual-zone or dual-temperature swim spa has two physically separate water chambers that can run independently.
The Vesta is H2O's dual-zone swim spa with hot tub section: one end for swimming, one for dedicated hot-tub use, with independent temperatures, Gecko controls and 2 x 32A supplies.
One person can swim in cooler water while somebody else relaxes in much warmer hot-tub water at the same time.
What size swim spa do I need?
Start with how you plan to use the spa, then work backwards from the space you have.
The Nova measures 4.0m x 2.28m and is our compact option for swimming, exercise and couples.
Athena measures 4.8m x 2.3m, adding more swimming length and three hydrotherapy seats.
Vesta measures 5.8m x 2.3m and suits families, entertaining and anyone wanting separate swim and hot-tub zones.
Bigger is not automatically better. Measure the installation area carefully, but also check the full delivery route into your garden. Indoor installations need additional planning.

Is a swim spa cheaper than a swimming pool?
Often, but not in every installation. A swim spa avoids the scale of excavation and construction required for a conventional in-ground pool and needs considerably less space. It is also self-contained and designed for heated, year-round use. Total project costs still depend on site preparation, access and installation.
Do I need planning permission for a swim spa?
Usually not for a straightforward domestic installation, but exceptions can apply to flats and maisonettes, listed buildings, conservation areas or other designated land, front-garden locations, raised platforms and substantial enclosures. Permitted-development rights can also be restricted, so check with your local planning authority if you're unsure.
What is the difference between a single-zone and dual-zone swim spa?
A single-zone swim spa has one shared body of water at one temperature. A dual-zone model has separate swimming and hot-tub chambers that can run at different temperatures. H2O's Vesta is dual-zone, letting you swim in cooler water while the hot-tub section stays warmer for hydrotherapy and relaxation.
What base does a swim spa need?
A swim spa needs a solid, flat and level base capable of carrying several tonnes. For example, Vesta's base must support more than 7,000kg when filled with water and people.
We recommend a level poured concrete base for Athena. Suitable patios or correctly reinforced decking may sometimes work, but seek structural advice if capacity is uncertain.

Can you actually swim properly in a swim spa?
Yes. A swim spa creates a counter-current so you can swim continuously without turns while staying broadly in one position.
Nova uses twin river jets powered by three 3HP pumps, while Vesta uses a quad-jet system powered by four 2HP pumps.
The experience is not identical to open-water or competition-pool swimming.
