Summer may well be just around the corner, and for most people, this means spending a few days by the pool and partaking in summer activities. When the day fades into night, you will probably find it more comforting to opt for a hot tub instead. A traditional hot tub will complement your garden, and it may even increase your property value as well. But a hot tub is for life, not just for summer!

Hot tubs are great and offer a range of mental and physical health benefits. But the main thing is... the price! Customers often ask us how much a hot tub costs and about when the best time to buy a hot tub is. The largest demand for hot tubs in the UK is of course during the peak of summer, which can lead to difficulties with stock, so you need to think ahead and plan when you actually want the hot tub by.

When Is The Best Time to Buy a Hot Tub?

Ultimately, if you're looking for a great deal, the best time to buy a hot tub isn’t actually during the summer months. Instead, you should buy it in winter or spring. The main reason for this is because the prices tend to drop dramatically because the weather is colder. Many retailers will often also include deals and discounts around this time to try and draw new customers in. Winter also gives people the chance to enjoy their tubs for longer, as in summer you can easily get too hot to relax.

Either way, one thing you need to take note of is that the height of summer (July and August) is probably the worst time for you to be buying a hot tub. Why? Because you're unlikely to be able to take delivery of it until winter anyway... most good hot tub retailers will be very low on stock by the summer time.

If you're looking at any of our swim spas for sale, you'll find that the price and availability doesn't really change throughout the year.

If a hot tub is in stock in the H2O warehouse, we can normally deliver it within 2 weeks, anywhere in the UK. However, if a spa isn't in stock but is in production, it can be anything from 6-12 weeks for delivery. In the summer time, the industry is at it's peak so stock will be very low to non-existant at this time. Any hot tub retailer who can't sell out during the summer months is unlikely to have a strong, high quality product.

For this reason, the best time for you to buy a tub would be in March or April... this way, the weather is starting to warm and there will likely be stock available. If there's still no stock (at H2O we often sell out around April time so all spas are built to order with longer lead times) then at least it will arrive in time for June/July and the amazing summer months. So think ahead to when you actually want the hot tub by, and work backwards to plan your ordering date.

Taking Advantage of Black Friday

A lot of hot tub retailers tend to have deals around Black Friday. This is a huge sale day for stores, and it can help them rocket their profits too. Sometimes sites such as Amazon host flash deals, but you will need to be quick if you want to take advantage of this. If you want to make sure that you are getting the best deal overall, then it may be wise for you to go right to the supplier.

When you do, they will often offer you an installation service, and you may even find that you can take advantage of their servicing packages as well. Online, you may be limited more to inflatable tubs, which can be great fun but generally don’t last very long.

Remember though that Black Friday is a huge shopping day in the UK, so even then you’re not guaranteed to find the product you want if stock runs low. Remember, many hot tub retailers often promote HUGE discounts on their websites, some for more than £1000 off at a time.

Everybody who's sensible knows that these discounts are false and are misleading to customers. Just because you see a great deal, don't be foolish... do your research, speak to other companies and assess your situation before parting with your cash.

The Other Alternative

Another alternative for those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Black Friday would be to shop with a smaller company. Big brands tend to have big discounts at certain points of the year. These are usually based around the winter months, which is obviously not too convenient if you want to make the most out of the sun. Big providers also tend to advertise summer discounts, but in reality, they aren’t much cheaper than the standard price that you’d be paying in winter.

If you want to avoid all of this stress, then a smaller company can provide you with a warranty, a personalised shopping experience and a 5-star service all year round. They can also provide you with affordable prices due to the way that their sales system works.

Shopping with H2O Hot Tubs

Our hot tubs are very affordably priced starting from just £3,799, and our prices remain the same all year round. We don’t offer huge discounts throughout the year - unlike many shady retailers who regularly promote fake discounts with savings of over £1500... please don't fall for this scam! as we believe that this provides our customers with a relaxing and personalised shopping journey from beginning to end. According to our Trustpilot reviews, customers love this.

You won’t have to worry about our tubs selling out of stock or not getting the advice you need because the store’s too busy. Whilst stock can be an issue due to extremely high demand, you'll be guaranteed of an amazing service, regular communication and a fantastic hot tub at the end of it.

Instead, you can count on prices that reflect the “sale” prices of bigger brands, without having to compromise your buying experience.
