Initial heating after a refill can create a noticeable spike, while day-to-day heating is about replacing the heat that escapes.

Energy consumed in kWh x your electricity unit rate = electricity cost.

The hard part is predicting the energy consumption. Hydropool, for example, publishes an estimate of about 600kWh per month for one efficient mid-range swim spa under its own stated conditions, including roughly an hour of use a day.
